Karen Curry
Owner and Lead Teacher
I am a UK qualified teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching Early Years and Primary aged children in the UK and Hong Kong. In 2014 I created Shooting Stars Preschool with my own children in mind. I wanted to provide somewhere educational and fun where children could play and learn. Shooting Stars started in our house in Finstersee with just 3 children. We now have more than 30 children registered in our preschool and another 70 join us for our afternoon classes. We have moved to a more spacious setting in Unterägeri with a wonderful outdoor area.
We are continually expanding our educational afternoon classes, offering engaging and supportive classes that enable children to improve their reading and writing skills in line with the UK Curriculum. At Shooting Stars, we are passionate about making learning a positive and enjoyable experience for children of any age.
Shooting Stars is growing and evolving but remains a small, caring preschool and English learning centre. Come and visit us!

Shooting Stars is a small English Preschool in Unterägeri, Zug, where children build confidence, independence and social skills through play. Our programme is designed for families planning for their children to attend local Swiss schools while maintaining English as a key part of their education. Our afternoon phonics, reading and writing classes help children continue developing their English skills in line with the UK curriculum.
Since 2014 we have focused on providing a warm and friendly environment, where children of all ages can learn in English. Shooting Stars offers high-quality education and care for families in Unterägeri and Zug. Cassie Meyer
Teacher
I am a British teacher with a BA Hons Degree in Education speialised in Early Childhood Development. I have experience working with children and families in both the U.K. and Switzerland stretching over 19 years. Switzerland has been my home since 2012 where I led the Pre-School team in a local International school before stopping to have two children of my own. It is a pleasure to support both children and parents on their learning journey at Shooting Stars.
Karen Craig
Teaching Assistant
I am a qualified teaching assistant from the UK and have lived in Switzerland with my family since 2015. Previously I lived in Germany and worked as an assistant librarian in the children's library. I have a passion for books and enjoy sharing my love of story-telling with the children at Shooting Stars. I have worked with the preschool children at Shooting Stars since 2018 and also assist with some of the English clubs in the afternoons.
Ellen Alexander
Teacher
I am a qualified teacher with a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education. I taught preschool and first grade in the U.S. and have been teaching the preschool children at Shooting Stars for 2 years. This age is a wonderful time of discovery and awe that provides the foundations for math, reading and general excitement for school. I love fostering this through natural play and am thrilled to be able to do so here in Unterägeri.
